Author Ryeson’s Story
By the time baby Ryeson Bull was smiling he was telling stories with his actions. By age two he memorized “Goodnight Moon” and could repeat every line, yelling them, of course. At age two-and-a-half, he dictated Randall the Blue Spider to his mama (co-author, Shana Bull) in a hospital parking lot in downtown Long Beach.
Ryeson was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a hereditary disease that impacts his lungs and digestive system. The ocean has always been a special place for our family - because salt air is good for Ryeson’s lungs. He is also a redhead which pretty much tells you that he is a feisty kid. :)
Rye is now five years old and loves reading, hiking, and playing with friends outside with random sticks he finds on the ground.
Co-Author Shana’s Story
Ryeson’s mama is a freelance writer and digital marketer with a focus on writing about travel, food, wine, music, and family life.
Shana loves elaborate cheese boards, dry rosé wine, and outdoor adventures with her husband + Ryeson. Find her online at shanabull.com.
The Bull family lives in the Bay Area, California.
Illustrator Brady’s Story
Brady Lovell grew up in a small farm town in central Utah, watching Sesame Street and reading Richard Scarry books.
Always a doodler, arts and crafts were an obvious favorite subject in school. He graduated from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor’s in Communication and Art. Most of his adult life was spent in Salt Lake City working as a graphic designer and illustrator, primarily in the hobby and craft industry. He started Fat Tabby Studio in 2012 as a way to market and license his artwork. From gift wrap to fabric to greeting cards he has been able to create fun designs inspired by nature, humor, and everyday life.
